My name is Charley and i joined CI in August 2014 to gain more experience in Project Management. After the one month weekend course, a colleague asked me if what i paid for has been justified,
i told him my justification for the training had just started. This is because i not only wanted to go through the training but to also be part of a team working on a project.
I started off with the TAMF- Trading Places where i met the team in the implement and test stage. I did join in and listened a lot to get experience.
With my zeal to get my hands really dirty, i was offered a role as Deputy Project Manager in a new project TAMF (i-robot).
This really boosted my confidence and gave me the opportunity to learn Project Management as a whole and start a project from inception to close.
I also did a lot of reading in Project Management and also did a certification in Agile Scrum Foundation and Developer.
With my experience in Accounting and Finance, i used this as an added advantage to get into the PM world where budgeting, resourcing and Financing is key.
After preparing my CV in readiness to apply for roles, i was offered a role in my second interview with LBG as an IT Project Coordinator.
I will always remember Keji saying do not be in a hurry to get a job but be in a hurry to be ready to get the job. That is exactly what i did as i prepared myself for
the market before i started applying for Jobs.
