Why joining Career Insights is the best decision you will be making in 2016…

Sandra is rapidly becoming a rising star here at Career Insights.

She’s gone from being an aspiring BA candidate to securing a BA / Product owner role and now mentoring other candidates into the field with two success stories since securing her first role in September.

By then she won the best BA Award in 2015 at the DBT Awards.

Hi Keji,

Finally happy to share my success story with you.

Let me start by apologising in advance for the very lengthy story.

I got offered the position as a Business Analyst/Product owner with a global digital media firm.

I joined DBT in April 2015 and got involved in a few projects; CI Margin call, CM- Exodus and finally became Technical BA lead for Tech Phoenix 2.
That was the turning point for me as I really got involved in the project right from the beginning and got my hands deep in dirt.

I am glad to to be part of Tech Phoenix 2 project team (a.k.a hawk family). You guys rock and work so hard.

Our PM, Adeshola Cole, whom we all fondly call mama hawk would push us to work and there was no escaping her when she needs you to do your bit, lol. I also got to learn Stakeholder relations from her. I would definitely recommend her as a mentor; she guided me through my interview prep process even though she was not my mentor. You are the best mama hawk.

Thanks to Mike Osunsina, Mohamed, Onoriode, Shakoor (for always being there and making me believe in myself),Bolanle, Olabunmi, Isaac, Vincent, Marisa, Doris, time won’t permit me to mention you all one by one.
Tech Phoenix 2 Team rocks!!!

It would not be a complete story if I did not mention my friend/sister, Omolola Ilesanmi, who despite her busy schedule would make out time to listen and go through her day to day responsibilities as a BA wit me. The Q/A sessions definitely paid off.

Special thanks to Ola (snr BA) for all those times you encouraged me to do things myself. In Ola’s words, ‘google it’, lol, actually rekindled my passion for research. Thanks to Dan Asuzu and Tunde Ohioza for your tremendous help and support; all those times of bugging you with questions even till late at night yet you were ever so responsive.

Finally, my darling mentor, Toyin Ajayi, GOD BLESS YOU. Your words, ‘tell your story’ kept resounding in my ears, even during my interview, lol.
Thanks for the interview prep and pep talk. You are such a good motivator and you make it all seem so easy.
Now I will bug you even more

The interview I had was my very first interview and Toyin taught me to ‘tell my story’ and by God’s Grace I got offered the role.

Thanks Keji for this platform that gives people the opportunity to gain experience and develop their career.

I will advise everyone to take DBT seriously and learn as much as you can. You can only do this however, by getting heavily involved in tasks.

Believe in yourself. The journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step!

Her most recent success story:

Hi Keji ,

This is success story but I want to remain anonymous.

One of the mentors in DBT , Sandra Iroka was of immense help when I was interviewing for BA role

Despite the fact that she was not a DBT Mentor at the time , she helped me out with interviews tips , mock interview before every interview and feedback/review sessions after every interview

I happened to attend a lot of interviews before I secured a Business Consultant Role. But she was patient and helpful

Kind regards
